Basic Appearance • Madoa has the average height and appearance of an adult female hyena, being larger than her male counterparts, but by all means still resembles them. She has ashen-gray fur, if slightly darker than that of Janja but lighter than Shenzi's, with darker tones found on her muzzle, markings around her eyes, stripes on her back, three dots on her forehead, and legs. Her ears, hair, and tail are all a black color with her mane partly swept back and light purple streaks appearing in her mane and single streak in her tail. Her eyes are also a deep chocolate brown.

the personality

Personality • Madoa may come off as odd for a hyena. Compared to most of her kind, she is surprisingly caring and compassionate, respecting life in all forms even if they are her worst enemies, namely the lions. She is incredibly strong willed and firm for a young adult, usually standing firm with her beliefs and rarely is persuaded to a new action showing a strong conviction for what she believes in. But, Madoa is always willing to lend a paw for those in need or be supportive where she can, even offering what little advice she does have if someone comes to her. Her humble and nurturing nature makes her approachable and easy to get along with, part of the reason she has become popular among the clans.

That being said, she is no pushover or bleeding heart by any means. Madoa can be as stubborn and vocal as any animal, easily able to verbally and physically hold her own. Fiercely protective, when Madoa is pushed the right way she can easily show her wrath as swiftly as hiding it, being a voice of reason yet isn’t afraid to use violence. Though generally unyielding and understanding, Madoa knows how to analyze and when to bend. Survival at times is her priority, and though she does not agree with all the beliefs and methods of the hyena super clan, she isn’t afraid to make a hard call or make a move to fit in showing she is adaptable. Some have even said she has a knack for being a leader and could someday be a matriarch herself.

History • Madoa has seen the worst and best of times. 

She was born a short time before the reign of Scar, being part of one of the smaller hyena clans that stuck to a small watering hole they had found in the Outlands. Though small, they were close-knit and seemed an oddity among the hyena clans in that they followed the belief of the Circle of Life despite being hyenas. But, that didn’t exempt them from still facing troubles with lions, both from the Pridelands and rogues alike due territorial disburse and having one to the rare watering holes within the parched lands.

But when an older cub, Shenzi and her two friends broached the idea of a united hyena clan to her mother, the matriarch of their small clan. Though negotiations took a while, Madoa remained close by to listen to them talk, watching with close, wary eyes. When all was said and done, her mother agreed to join out of survival necessity despite how some had come to view their small group. Survival came first and soon Madoa found herself surrounded by more hyenas than she had ever seen, but it also meant she had more chances to make friends and connect with those not in her group. Plus, all the waiting and planning soon came to fruition as Scar accomplished his goals. Seemingly that is.

From there, Madoa grew upon a turbulent time of working alongside her fellow hyenas and the reluctant, hostile lions that remained among the pride. But, she quickly found herself frowning upon the methods Scar chose to perform, much less what Shenzi condoned. But surrounded by those who did not mind, she reluctantly kept a low profile and did the bare minimum required aside from scouting, hunting, and keeping the peace. As the years dragged by though, she watched with great sadness as the Pridelands fell to despair, until she was about in her late teen years. As it turned out, Simba was very much alive and his arrival caused a mass battle to break out between Scar and his hyenas and the Pridelanders.

Madoa engages in the battle, mostly to ensure some of her friends and brethren at least survived the conflict before retreating. Scar gone, and the one large clan battered and weakened, the Outlands became home once again. But, now a young adult, Madoa has swiftly earned a reputation among the clan as stern, stubborn, and reliable, allowing her to earn enough attention to have recently become a beta of the hyena super clan while still looking out for both her clanmates and her younger sister due to the loss of their mother back in the Battle of Pride Rock.
