She has a nick in her ear from a tussle with a buffalo before all the herds moved on. Her underbelly is the same color as the rest of her, an even more unique trait. The tuft of fur at the end of her tail is orange. the personality Personality • Umeme takes her name very seriously. She was named after lightning and lightning she shall be, here one moment and gone the next! Umeme is wonderful at disappearing into thin air because she's already as quiet as air. She rarely speaks aloud, preferring to get her point across with gestures and expressions. When she does speak though, it's prudent to listen, because she won't repeat herself. Likes • Rainy days | Hunting | Scaring her pridemates Dislikes • Rainy nights | Hyenas | Loud noises History • Umeme was born to her mother, Tufani, and a passing rogue some odd years ago. She was a teenager when Mufasa died, not even being on her first hunt yet. Still, she was older than the young prince at the time of his disappearance. The hyenas in equal measure annoyed and scared her. Annoyed because they were always laughing or making so much unnecessary noise and scared because, well, they were hyenas! She didn't even mind them much at first, despite that. Maybe King Scar had a point in that a new era was a good thing. Umeme didn't even know why the hyenas were banished from the pridelands, only that it had happened a long time ago. But then the hyenas just kept eating and hunting and killing, not even sparing the young prey animals that would grow up to have their own young to grow up and have their young and so on and so forth. Even worse, King Scar didn't even seem to care. The den mothers weren't giving enough milk for the newborn cubs, and he rebuffed every complaint or concern about it. Umeme got desperate enough to go hunting by herself outside of the pridelands, tracking anything and everything she could to bring back. She got into a fight with a buffalo that, to her shame, she couldn't bring down by herself, and she was forced to return home empty pawed. Apparently her dedication earned her respect among the pride though. She was chosen by Queen Zira, despite her relative youth, to join her on a hunt beyond the pridelands. They were gone for a while and when they returned, there wasn't a hyena in sight. What had happened? Umeme followed her Queen towards their home and was ready to fight if their pride was in danger. But she recognized that red mane and those red eyes. It was Simba! KING Simba now, apparently. And Umeme was beyond happy to see him. She hadn't been close to the trouble making furball when he was young, but she'd missed him all the same. the FAMILy Father • A random passing lion, unimportant Mother • Tufani, meaning Storm Siblings • N/A Mate • N/A Offspring • N/A Others • N/A the role player Name • Riley Nickname • Nope Age • 28 Password • "In your reflection" Other Characters • Your other characters, if any. roleplay Sample The silence was eerie. Normally Umeme liked silence. Heck, Kings Above, she THRIVED in silence. But this? This was the silence of the dead. Grass stalks broke underpaw, brittle from so long without rain, and Umeme raised her nose to the air for a sign of what had happened. Smoke. Smoke and fire and rot. Her tail trembled at the thoughts and images running through her mind, and her paws ached with the pure want to flat out sprint toward Priderock. She glanced at Queen Zira to see what she wanted to do, and the Queen abandoned her usual subtlety to run. Umeme wasn't the only one to follow her immediately. The closer they got to Priderock, the stronger the smell of smoke was. Still, there wasn't a single hyena. Something bad must have happened, something VERY bad. Everybody knew Scar ordered the hyenas around, and if there were no hyenas, it stood to reason there was no Scar. He'd already made his opinion on leaving Priderock known, so the pride wouldn't have moved on without them. Were they even alive? Had they all died in the flames that, she could see now, blackened the stones of her ancestral home? No. Relief burst inside her chest when she skidded to a halt next to Queen Zira. They were alive. They were all alive. Tears nearly came to Umeme's eyes, but a male snarl made her gaze snap towards somebody who didn't belong. Or. Or maybe DID belong. That distinctive red mane had belonged to King Mufasa, and only one lion in all the world could have inherited it. Simba had come back! And even better, Nala was by his side! "You scared me." Umeme chided bluntly, staring straight at her. "Never disappear like that again without telling anybody." WORDS: 298 |
