It was relatively early in the day as the cheetah family had gotten up early to go out and enjoy themselves. Their mother had already hunted and fed everyone. The cubs were restless as Duma decided to take Jabali and Fuli to the watering hole. It was one of the places where she felt safe. Because of that Fuli was so excited for it that they could get out of the den and go somewhere in the Pridelands. She kept up with mom with ease as she darted around her paws careful not to get tripped over. "We're going to the watering hole!" She said with excitement. "Slow down Fuli you are too fast even for your mother." Duma said with a chuckle... Of course she had no idea what was in store for her daughter.
With Mother's watchful eye's not that far away Duma, wanted to make sure Fuli had a little bit of freedom. SHe could see the lining of a yellow pelt from where she was sitting on a nearby rock. Fuli came over to the water as her green eyes looked so big. The watering hole looked like a safe place. But to a tiny cub she felt a little overwhelmed. She was so grateful that her mother let her have a bit of freedom and get her legs moving again. "Don't stray too far from the watering hole, my dear make sure you are safe." She smiled and nodded towards her mother. "Yes Mom I'll listen. And I will be safe" She said assuring her mother. As the excitement built inside the tiny cheetah cub. The world was a big one and she had already taken her first set of steps into it.
"Wow it's so big here." Fuli said as she wanted to explore everything. The cheetah came up to a tree but even to a small cub it looked huge. She loaded herself as she backed up a bit and rushed towards it to climb only to find herself no where she wanted to be on one of the low branches. She heard a loud snap as Fuli realized what would happen next. A thud could be heard as she landed on her back but she was relatively fine. Her mother didn't seem so concerned as she'd just have a shore tail and back later. "Oof... I'm ok." She said with a soft giggle wondering if there was anyone to look around and play with very soon. Fuli got tired of playing with her brother and wanted someone new.

Though no where near as adventurous as his older sister, Kion was still a curious little cub. There had been many areas of the Pridelands he had yet to explore due to still being quite young and vulnerable, so it was rare for him to be brought far from Pride Rock.
But, with him getting larger by the week, one of the cub sitters had felt it necessary to give the young prince some time to stretch his legs. After all, he had to be strong and healthy, and with less concerns of the dark years the cub sitter had brought him out to the busiest place in the land, the watering hole. Here, he was set down carefully away from the water’s edge but in a spot the cub sitter could still keep him within her sights. The moment his feet touched the ground, Kion scrambled to explore the area, trotting around the various rocks, crevasses, roots, trees, anything he could see. The area was still rather new and large for him, brown eyes wide with wonder as he pushed through some of the tall grass.
“Hm?” A new scent caught his attention, causing Kion to pause and scan his surroundings. The individual was nearby. Curiousity piqued, the young prince made his way through the grass towards the scent, spotting Fuli’s more golden fur among the green. She was young like him, perhaps about the same age from the looks of it. Perhaps he had found a playmate!
Grinning to himself, Kion carefully lowered into a sloppy form of the hunter’s crouch, slowly creeping up towards the king cheetah. With a loud squeaky roar, Kion lunges forward and pounced Fuli, “Gotcha!”

"Mwezi!!" Fuli cried out as she had been startled by something huge... It could've been anything! Even a large elephant for that matter. She didn't want to find out. Still she knew something had landed on top of her. Fuli got the surprise of her life feeling someone tackle her and pounce her to the ground. Her fur fluffed up and the shock hit her blue eyes as she wondered who the culprit was. "Jabali get off of me! Mwezi!" She said looking very shocked and surprised at the same time. At first she thought it was Jabali her brother but upon looking over she realized she had made a mistake! Looking up she realized it hadn't been her brother at all. She could see why she mistook the golden cub for Jabali as their pelts were similar. But she realized that this creature smelled of lion and there weren't many that Fuli was keen on meeting just yet.
"I'm sorry I thought you were my brother you gave me a heart attack." She confessed as she flicked her ears. "Now please get off before you squish me." She said knowing that it felt very uncomfortable as the cheetah sat there.
"My name is Fuli by the way..." Fuli said figuring she should at least be friendly and now her fur was messed up as she'd have to clean it again. Cheetahs were very particular about their coats. Fuli would fit in right there. "What is yours? Momma and I came to the watering hole to play but no one wants to play with a cheetah." She said with a sigh as she knew that she probably was too fast even for a cub for some of the animals here. Maybe they thought they were going to squish her? Or hurt her for that matter? Duma's ears turned hearing the cub's shock but saw she had a companion. Fuli would be alright if she had one, it would be a nice change from her annoying brother.
Still there was some uncertainty about this being a lion... Fuli had never interacted with one before. So this would be a first. Fuli had heard the stories from her mother about what Scar had done to the lands. But to Fuli they just seemed like a distant memory or dream. Surely some lions weren't all that bad?

Kion snickered softly as he caught the young cheetah off guard. She must have really been distracted to not have caught him creeping up. There was a faint bit of pride in the young prince’s eyes, seeing Fuli shocked and pinned easily despite their shared age. Most likely he just was heavier in comparison.
But at her request, Kion quickly got off her as he chuckled, “Sorry, it was a perfect opportunity to surprise you. You should have seen your face!” He said in a playful tone, his look of mischief quickly becoming friendly. “And my name is Kion, prince of the Pridelands.” He introduced himself as he sat straighter, looking quite proud of himself and his lineage. Yet, that was as far as his pride showed as he regarded Fuli with curiosity. He had seen cheetahs from afar before, even knew what they were, but this too was a first for meeting one face-to-face. Maybe it would give him a chance to meet someone else outside other lions.
“Sorry I startled you, but should probably be more aware.” He pointed out, getting to his paws to approach closer and inspect the other cub. “I didn’t hurt you did I?” He asked with genuine concern.

"Oh....Mwezi..." Fuli sounded a little bit disappointed hearing Kion's part of mentioning the fact that he was a lion and a part of the royal family. She knew about them from the stories that her mother had told how the lions had ruled the Pridelands. Even Duma knew better than to stay and interfere with them. Though Fuli had never really had a bad reason to get mad at Kion he was about her age, just as innocent and playful and wanting to get away from the watchful eyes of a baby sitter of the parents. Perhaps they had more in common then she realized. "Tell me about it." Fuli muttered and rolled her green eyes full of sarcasm and not at all thrilled that a lion cub pounced her. Next time, if she saw Kion she'd get him. Though the chances were quickly dashed when she heard about him being a prince. Odds of a cheetah and cub encounter were probably slim to none. The cub sitters would have their eyes on him like a hawk. She had a feeling this encounter would be graced every once in a life time.
"I've never met a lion before... Only heard about the stories how the one king..." She trailed off knowing that Kion probably didn't need to hear about that. "Never mind, you've probably heard that story a million times." She said referring to Scar.
"My name is Fuli I am a king cheetah living with my mom and brother... When I'm ready though I want to live on my own. Have my own adventure." Fuli said. "If you are looking at my spots I have exactly 35 spots and 7 stripes...and a heart on my forehead." She said looking Kion over she was about to ask if he wanted to go on a race but she saw his leg looked off as she realized that it might be something that she may regret. "D-Do you want to race? I saw your back leg looks kind of...off. But if you don't want too that's fine." Fuli offered as she knew that she'd get him one of these days for sneaking up on him. She hadn't exactly said why she was distracted. Maybe looking out at the scenery and wanting her own adventure. This would've been a good spot for a mini adventure. "Or if not we could go explore I saw some termite mounds not far from here." She offered wanting to play with someone different. Some how it felt good...
