As Scar ascended the throne, Milaje began to secretly train Thandiwe to kill Scar and save the Pridelands. But just as Thandiwe became an adolescent and serious planning had begun, tragedy struck once more. The hyenas found out about the plot against their King and tore Milaje to pieces, feeding upon her flesh. Thandiwe managed to flee the Pridelands and continued his training in exile. When he thought himself ready, he made the journey back to his home. But stepping back upon the familiar plains, he was struck with surprise. Simba had returned from the dead and saved the pride from their Tyrannical King. Thandiwe then vowed his loyalty to Simba and became the royal family's protector.
