@tamsin It was strange, being in the Pridelands again. He remembered the territory with an intense fondness, and it was easy to simply look around and find things that meant a lot to him as a cub. The raised platform in the den, for example. Thank goodness Simba remembered him, otherwise he would not have been allowed in the pride's main den area, and that allowed the golden male to find one of his favorite childhood locations- directly to the right of the raised rocks in the cave, curled up in a large divot in the rocky floor, back against the platform. In the summer, the stone was cool and shaded, tens of degrees cooler than anything else on the plains. In the winter, it was warm, retaining his body heat whenever he rested. It was a perfect little thing that he simply remembered fondly. Alas, he was not a cub anymore. Placing his paw into the small divot in the rock, where he used to be able to curl up in sleep, it was painfully obvious that he would never sleep in that spot again. The depression in the rock was the size of his forepaw, he completely filled it in one step. He sighed somewhat sadly, looking around at the familiar rock faces, basking in the shafts of light that permeated some of the weaker structures. As a cub, he spent a lot of time in here and it was almost surreal to see it again after what Scar did to it all. Shaking his head of the thought of Scar, the golden lion turned and made his way out into the open, standing on the main precipice of the rock formation, looking out into the distance, where the sun would eventually set as the lionesses returned and everyone settled down to sleep. He had such fond memories of this place, it was unreal to see it all again with his adult eyes, his a adult size, and most importantly his adult responsibilities. To Tiifu. Climbing down from the rocks, Tojo took his time, leisurely following one of Simba's marked paths in a lazy search for his daughter. It was a strange thought, the idea that he had a daughter out here somewhere, a cub that he had never met before he was summoned. Even now, after he had been here for about ten days or so, he and Tiifu were still strangers to one another. He did not know her favorite color, he did not know her favorite food, he did not know her worst fears, and he had never been here for her after a nightmare or a bad breakup with a male, none of that. He'd missed a large part of her life and, determined to fix this, he finally took the time to seek her out, to try and be involved, even if all they did was play in the mud. He wanted his baby girl to know that she never had to play alone, daddy would be there for her 100%. Rounding a corner, he paused to sniff the air. For some strange reason, despite barely knowing her, Tojo had no trouble identifying and later tracking Tiifu by scent. She just... smelled in a particular way. It was not a bad smell, she wasn't filthy or anything, just something about her, it was like he had always known her scent and just did not realize it. Maybe it was because she was his daughter, perhaps she inherited his scent so it was like smelling himself- familiar, warm and comforting. Sure enough, following both the trail and the scent, the adult male finally come upon a small outcropping of rocks on the far side of Priderock. Many of the lionesses were out here, enjoying the shade as the midday sun rose high into a cloudless sky, but the minute that Tojo spotted a particular coat of brilliant golden fur, he went right over. The cub had her back to him, clearly focused on something else. So he slowly approached her, and though manners said that he should cough or do something to announce his presence, instead he waited a moment, watching her fuss with something in front of her, completely oblivious. And after that little security blanket was down, he very suddenly addressed her, smiling, hoping to surprise her. "What'cha got there, Little One?"

| T ι ι ϝ υ The midday sun hung high in the sky, the warmth beating down upon her light pelt. She loved the comforting feeling, especially since it wasn’t too hot out today. Green eyes flashed as she narrowed in on a fat beetle walking along the ground. “The mighty hunter stalks her prey.” Tiifu’s voice released in a soft whisper as she carefully picked her paws forward. Low to the ground, she flicked her ears forward to zero in, the world slipping away behind her. Right now, it was Tiifu and this beetle. Gingerly, she moved her left arm forth, gently shifting her weight from her front to her back. Tiifu then wiggled her bum as she calibrated her paws and just as she was about to lunge forth- “What'cha got there, Little One?" The beetle sprouted it’s wings and fluttered off.
Olive eyes narrowed as she plopped her rump to the ground, throwing her head over her shoulder to glare upon her intruder. Oh, it’s that guy, Mama’s friend. “Well, it woulda been a beetle, but you let it get away!” Her Tail thwumped the ground in slight annoyance as she turned her head away from him and toward the rock pillar her mother was sprawled out on. She noticed her mother had stiffened but seemingly relaxed once she realized just who it was beside her daughter. Gee, thanks Mama. She returned her eyes to the grown lion behind her, her tail now wagging about behind her decisively.
BAM!! The young cub suddenly leapt toward his chest, quite a bit of a feat for one so young and tiny as herself. She dug her claws into his mane, knowing full well she wouldn’t hurt him in any capacity. “That was rooooode mister! Rule numbah one in hunting, do not distract the lioness! Rawr!” She tried reaching up her head to nom on his chin, but alas she could not reach. Sheathing her claws, she dropped down, only to race around him and set her sights upon his tail. Tiifu pounced and successfully nabbed his tuft between her paws, her tiny teeth gently gripping his tail. Mama taught her well about bite pressure and when it was appropriate to really close her jaws.
The little huntress deemed the punishment enough and dropped his tail, a wide grin crossing her face as she beamed up at him. “So what are yoouu doing today.. Uh… Tojo..? Right?” She always had a little difficulty remembering names, especially when she only recently learned them. This guy was new to the Pridelands, so she was still trying to get him name right. It had been a fortnight or so when he arrived.
Tiifu had been curled up next to her mother enjoying a rare suckling moment. It wasn’t often anymore that Tama let her nurse, especially now that she was getting to be a big girl. He had just waltz on up and Tama jumped up to greet him. She remembered her mother calling him her bestest friend when they were Tiifu’s age. Tama had then introduced Tiifu to him and she couldn’t help but catch a weird look upon his face. Her mother, on the other paw had betrayed no emotions to her daughter.
Over the last few days, he kept coming around to wherever Tama and Tiifu were. Sometimes, they wandered off to talk alone together and other times, Tama left her with him to go do whatever it was that lionesses did; hunting, socializing and whatnot. Whatever was going on, Tiifu didn’t mind much. All she knew was she had a new friend to play with!
A buzzing sound caused her to flick her ear in its direction and her eyes soon followed. A new bug to hunt!

@tamsin At first, the male's smile faltered a bit as the cub seemed legitimately bummed that he had scared away her prey and had interrupted her adorable little fantasy. He cocked his head to one side but still smiled, his eyes a little more apologetic than usual. But just as quickly as he had formed the thoughts in his mind, suddenly she was on him, jumping at him, mashing her paws into his well furred chest, mouthing at his chin. Though this playful display had come out of nowhere, the golden lion fell into the game almost immediately, at first just relieved that she had so quickly forgiven him for scaring away her target. The moment that her paws pressed against his chest, he reared up on his hindlegs and, as though the little cub had pushed him over, Tojo fell onto his back dramatically, fanning himself with a paw. "Oh no! How could I do such a thing, distracting the Greatest Hunter of All TIme? Oh how so very dare?!" He rolled over onto his side during a small pause, smiling at the playful cub. "You have bested me in fair combat Princess. I grovel at your feet, forgive this poor peasant."He rolled again, getting onto his stomach but not onto his feet. Instead, he army crawled a little closer to her, as his fainting bit had put some distance between them. He bowed his head respectfully. He knew that she was not literally a princess, as far as Tojo knew Tama did not have any particular power over the pride and its happenings so Tiifu was not royalty in the eyes of the pridelands. But to her father, she was the most gorgeous and graceful princess in the world. So he played the part, sticking out his bottom lip and pretending to wipe tears from his eyes. "Oh gracious one, go easy on your poor pathetic follower." He said, again, pretending to faint, rolling back onto his back. But when he looked up, Tiifu was gone, or at least she was nowhere in sight. That was when he felt teeth around his tail. He looked down the center line of his belly to find the young cub exactly where he expected her to be- his tail in her mouth. Again, he feigned punishment for the sake of the game. "Not the tail, oh no, I am really in trouble now."Laughing, Tojo sat up, giving Tiifu a few solid minutes with his tail before flicking it really quickly, which dislodged the appendage from her grasp, watching her warmly as she ran around. Such energy she had, he was impressed. She was so comfortable with him, so playful, so fun loving. Though he'd like to think that such a thing came from Tama's side of the family, if he was honest, he too was a tornado as a cub, attacking things, running around, practicing his roar, the whole nine yards. He'd grown up to be completely the opposite and is now pretty chill, calm and level-headed, perhaps Tiifu would inherit that as well, perhaps she'd grow into a beautiful lioness with the patience of a saint. But for now, she was literally running circles around him. "Tojo, yep that's me." He said, slightly strange as he sat up awkwardly, his bum and the backs of his hind legs on the ground, but his hind paws held up, showing their dark pads and somewhat dusty and dry skin. Still, the male smiled down at the cub, purposefully moving his tail around a bit in case she wanted to go for it again. She had incredible bite control, the earlier snag was painless and damage-less so Tojo was not bothered by her decision to chase it and invited her to do so again. "Oh I don't know..." He started to say somewhat wistfully, his blue eyes drifting into the sky as he thought. "I was thinking that a trip to the water hole might be a good way to pass the time before dusk, perhaps do a little swim. But to really enjoy that I'd need someone to go with me.... Someone oh I dunno, young maybe, perhaps female, maybe a little playful and fun loving, with a brilliantly light gold coat... You wouldn't happen to know where I could find such a lion, would you?"

| T ι ι ϝ υ A great laugh erupted from her tiny jaws at his words, but one caused her to pause a bit awkwardly. Princess. She glanced over her shoulder at him curiously. Maybe he really did not know, being new to the land and whatnot. She quickly interviened. “Oh no no. I’m not the Princess. That’s my bestest friend, Kiara. And one day when she’s Queen, I hope to be her advisor. It’s such an important job and I hope I’ma be smart enough to do it! But I gots alots of learnin’ to do firsts!” Tiifu lowered her head as she glanced around them, hoping no one overheard her. Thankfully they were just out of earshot of the other lionesses and cubs. “But don’t tell no bodies!”
The buzzing sounded off again and like a shark, she spun on her heels and began stalking toward it. It wasn’t her beetle from before, but it’ll do nicely! Without missing a beat, she lowered into position, her bum wiggling once more to calibrate her paws positions. She didn’t want to give Tojo the time to mess her up again and so she leapt, prematurely. She had misjudged the distance and fell short, the startled insect releasing wings and taking to the air. She outstretched a paw, attempting to swipe it down but alas, he flew faster than her limb and fluttered out of reach. “Dang…”
Tojo’s words reached her ears and she swiveled them back toward him, soon followed by her head and face. “Swimming? At the Water Hole? I dunno how to’s. I’ve got wee legs!” She flailed an arm to show him. “Mama lets me play in the shallows but I never dared go deeper. I can’t sees the bottoms and I don’t likes that.”

@tamsin Tojo smiled warmly at his daughter from where he was flopped on the ground. She was such a beautiful little cub. She had his golden fur, but it was lighter, softer, but she had her mother's smooth facial features, with a thin and almost dainty sort of construction. Though, perhaps it was not her mother's face but his own. He had to admit that he had a bit of a baby face with soft features, a smaller chin and bigger eyes. Perhaps there was more of him in her than he thought. But that was simply endearing, not important, just... nice. He'd always wanted to be a father, and though he did not feel like a father to Tiifu here because he had missed out on some key moments in her life, he wanted to earn that role, to work for her love and respect and comfort in his presence. She was already a fine little lady, just a pocket full of sunshine, hopefully he wouldn't screw it all up. Rolling into a sitting position, he watched her attack his tail for a bit. "Nonsense my dear. Every lioness is a 'princess'. Especially those that are kind, that are fun, that are loving. Kiara is just the only one to take the title seriously."He paused, leaning in as the little lioness told him a juicy secret. She wanted to be an advisor, this made Tojo smile from ear to ear. She sounded so ambitious, so intent, so dedicated to the idea that he was just tickled by her forethought. She was smart, a clever little one, like her mom, and he could not be more proud of her. He'd had no idea what he wanted to do with his life at her age. In fact, he'd always believed that he would not even make it to adulthood with how clumsy and accident prone he was as a youngster. He'd honestly believed that he'd have been killed a long time ago. But here he was, still lost and confused and wandering his way through life, but this little cub had her future planned out and was willing to put in the work to achievement. What dad would not be absolutely thrilled by this? His baby girl, up and going places. As he sat up straight again, he used his paw to make a "zipper" type movement over his mouth, indicating his silence and cooperation. "Your secret is safe with me, princess." He winked at her and then stood. He let their conversation pause for a moment as she was immediately distracted by another hunting target, and he watched, silent and still as she attempted once again to catch a large insect, looked like a beetle of some kind. Tojo watched with an almost palpable fondness. She had the form right, her shoulder's stiff, rising up over her back as she crouched low and crawled slowly. Her paws crossed one another as she moved, which the observing male noticed right away. Crossing paws has its applications, but usually when hunting, you wanted to avoid it, if your prey takes off running, crossing your paws will cause you to get in your own way going from a sneak to a sprint. Still, he said nothing at first, letting her give the hunt her all before moving over to her. "You'll have to be reeeeal patient next time if you want to catch it." He paused, crouching to show her his form, his technique. " You've got to be 'low and slow', something the old kings used to say. Stay low to the ground, drag your belly in the dirt if you must, but the stalking his very important. You've got to get as close as you can, like this."For example, he practically army crawled around the young lioness, his belly fur flattening against the stone, holding himself as low as possible. It looked silly considering that they were on a rock and not in the jungle or among the tall grasses. But, when used under the right cover, 'low and slow' was the thing to be. He paused suddenly, almost frozen in place, before suddenly looking at her with a cheeky smile. "Get as close as you can before...!" Suddenly he jumped and spun around, facing her in a sort of play bow. His tail waved wildly behind him, betraying his excitement. "Now, race ya to the water hole. Last one there is a zebra's behind!"He turned on his heels and, though he looked like he was running, he was actually at barely at a jog. Obviously, a grown lion racing a small cub is in no way a fair fight, so of course he played it up as much as he could, pretending to tire quickly, panting as though with effort, when really he was just doing it to convince the young cub that he had actually run out of stamina, even though they'd only moved a few feet away. He was obviously going to let Tiifu win, any adult could see that but he hoped his act was good enough to fool the young cub into feeling powerful, strong, a winner, self-esteem through the roof. That was all that he wanted for her, was to feel like she could do anything, and if he had to lose a race to boost her up, he was all about it.
