The late morning sun slowly rose higher in the sky by the time she had gotten to the cliffs. The savanna was already becoming steadily warmer and the plains were coming to life, Tova's ears twitching every so often at every sound as she trekked along towards the vast Rocky Plains.
Ordinary, the lionesses were the primary hunters and cub watchers of the pride, and most by now would be out stalking prey for the next few days, ensuring the young cubs and older members of the pride were well-taken care of. Many often looked at her oddly on those occasions she opted out to not hunt, but rather patrol the territory and the borders to scan for looming dangers.Although lately, it felt like the danger came from within the slowly splintering pride these days.But still, rising tension did not mean slacking off on border patrols. So, Tova had volunteered to search the Rocky Plains and offered for someone to join her if they wished.
Not that she particularly cared deep down if someone did or not.
But, the cedar brown lioness hadn't gone on this alone, occasionally glancing over her shoulder towards the red maned male behind her. "You alright back there big mane? Not walking too fast am I?" It was a rare moment for Tova to tease almost playfully. Any other time, her words could be quite crude or harsh in a way, and her patience could be thin. But, she didn't exactly feel her usual spark of being rude, simply busying herself with looking out for her home in the moment. Or, perhaps she was just that bored.
